Make-up Help!

Products I love:
Mac for my eyes and cheeks
Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
Chapstick
Products I would love to replace:
Cinique Super Balanced Make-up & Clinique compact powder
I have been sporting the same face make-up since the 7th grade. I am now 25 and feel I need something a little more age appropriate. Sure I could just go to a random make-up counter at the mall and they could sell me on what they think their best product is, but I don't even know what brand to choose. This is where you come in.
What can you tell me about face make-up you love?
Here's the deal, I go 6 out of 7 days a week without wearing the stuff because I hate it when I can feel it on my face. So I need something that feels like I have nothing on. Has anyone use bare minerals? I also want one with sunscreen, mine currently doesn't have it which is a major no no, I know!
And do most people use bronzer? I probably have the fairest skin out of everyone who could possibly read this blog, but I don't use a bronzer. I don't want my face, neck and chest to all be a different color.
I sound ridiculous I know, being a woman I should know more about make-up. But if any of you have any advice, lay it on me.
Thanks!

I use Mary Kay and love it! They just came out with a mineral line that is supposed to be pretty great! The one thing I absolutely love from there line is there Ultimate Mascara and there bronzer! Anyway, that is my 2 cents on make up. ha

i looooooove physicians formula. they have a mineral powder that goes on so light and lets your skin breath. when you first put it on it looks a little matte, but give it a minute and all of the sudden you have a beautiful healthy glow without being greasy. i also love good skin products and the flirt line- both found at kohls. good luck!

kelsey-- I need the same advice. I have been using Covergirl face makeup since middle school and its time for change. I have tried a couple different things but no success. I got free ($3 shipping) samples from everydayminerals.com, but I feel like powder doesn't stay on or show up enough. Anyway--good luck!

I have spent so much time finding makeup that works for my skin and I would recommend 3 products that I think are amazing.

1. Cosmedicine-Honest Face SPF 20
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P131817&categoryId=C13200&shouldPaginate=true
2. Channel-Pro Lumiere SPF 15
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2890651?Category=&Search=True&SearchType=keywordsearch&keyword=pro+lumiere+in+All+Categories&origin=searchresults
3. Bare Escentuals-Mineral Veil
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P61004&categoryId=S10810&shouldPaginate=true

This tinted moisturizer is great for everyday and especially the days you don’t wear any other makeup because it provides just a little bit of color and coverage.

I spent weeks getting samples of liquid foundation and Channel is by far the best. It is super light on your face but gives great coverage. Yes, it is expensive but it will last forever. Just use a sponge to apply it.

Bare Escentuals is very similar to Bare Minerals. I recently started using this and I LOVE IT! It keeps me non-shiny all day.

the only bit of advice I have is, if you can't find a good base that has sunscreen too, then get a face lotion that has SPF in it. I have really light face lotion that has the sunscreen and then I apply the base over that... Anyway.. good luck I don't know too much about it either!

I agree with the comment directly above mine. I make sure my lotion has SPF in it, so even if I don't wear make up that day, I'm wearing some sunscreen, because I put lotion on no matter what. And go for some bronzer, even if it's some cheap one. Totally worth it.

I have a really good friend who is a make up artist back home and does every celebrity who comes to town. She has done my makeup twice and last summer me and some of my girls went for a lesson. She said first off it is all about the tools. You can use any make up that suits your fancy but if you don't have the right brushes then forget about it. She should be day time makeup verse evening makeup. She showed me how to wear eyeliner on top. Bobbi Brown products are great. She said always use liner on the lips followed by gloss. a bronzer is fine. Always apply it where the sun hits you. She uses any mascara cause she said it doesn't really matter. You need a primer. For your eye lids and your face. The makeup will last all day!!!! I use a bare minerals type makeup. I love it! She uses MAC pencils but the bobbie brown products are awesome. But like I said..Make sure you have your brushes for lids, liner brush, foundation brush, blush brush. i can give you her email and she would gladly email you make with some awesome tips!!!

Holy cow excuse my grammar. I was typing fast!!! Jen Rose is her name. I think she might have a website. But I can get you her email. I have her on my blog. She shows pictures of her brides and when she did the AMC awards. She did Ocean 11 and other Ocean films that hit the Vegas area. She is GOOD.

So I consider myself pretty pale as well so bronzer looks terrible on me. But I do recommend a loose powder by Clinque called Gentle Light Powder. I use the glow neutral color. It doesn't really add color, just a little bit of warmth. Which goes a long way for me. It has some shimmer in it, so if you don't like shimmer it might not be the besst fit.

When I moved to AZ I decided it was time for me to wear a little more makeup so I had mu sister-in-law help me. She introduced me to bare minerals and I am in love with it!! You can by a starter kit for about $60 that comes with 2 foundations (I use fairly light in the winter and light in the summer because I too am pretty pale), it comes with a bronzer type product (warmth), blush, a veil powder to finish it off and 3 brushes that are amazing! It also comes with a dvd to help you learn to use it, etc. I love it because it doesn't feel like I am wearing anything and it doesn't come off on clothes. Hope you find what you are looking for. I also use mac for my eyes.
